Unreal Engine Developer
Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Unreal Engine Programmer to join our development team. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement high-quality code for interactive applications and games using Unreal Engine. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in C++ programming, extensive experience with Unreal Engine, and a passion for creating immersive experiences.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain game systems and features using Unreal Engine and C++
- Collaborate with designers, artists, and other programmers to implement gameplay mechanics
- Optimize performance across multiple platforms
- Debug and resolve technical issues
- Create efficient, maintainable, and reusable code
- Implement and integrate third-party technologies when necessary
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Stay current with the latest Unreal Engine updates and best practices
- Document technical designs and implementations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 3+ years of professional experience with Unreal Engine development
- Strong proficiency in C++ programming
- Experience with Unreal’s Blueprint visual scripting system
- Knowledge of game development principles and software design patterns
- Experience with version control systems (Git, Perforce)
- Understanding of 3D mathematics, physics, and rendering techniques
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Unreal Engine 5 features (Nanite, Lumen, MetaHumans, World Partition)
- Portfolio demonstrating work with Unreal Engine projects
- Experience with multiplayer networking implementation
- Knowledge of shader programming and material creation
- Familiarity with AI programming and behavior trees
- Experience developing for multiple platforms (PC, console, mobile)
- Understanding of AR/VR development principles
- Contributions to open-source projects or the Unreal Engine community

This position is based in the United States with flexible work arrangements available.
